a 50 day celebration!

The Feast of feasts is here! Because Christ rose on the Third Day--the first day of the week, echoing God's creation in Genesis--Christians transfer the new sabbath from the last day of the week (the original sabbath, the final day of creation) to Sunday, the first day of the week. Some refer to Sunday as the 8th Day of God's Creation. Easter is so powerful and transformative that Christians everywhere gather together every Sunday to celebrate Christ's death and resurrection!

Easter Day -- Matthew 28:1-10 (Proclaim the Resurrection!)

Easter 2--John 20:19-31 Beholding the wounds of the risen Christ (Doubting Thomas)

Easter 3--Luke 24:13-35  Eating with the risen Christ (Road to Emmaus)

Easter 4--John 10:1-10 Jesus promises eternal life to his sheep (Good Shepherd Sunday)

Easter 5--John 14:1-14 Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life

ASCENSION (May 14 this year)--Acts 1:1-11 Christ present in all times and places (40 Days after Easter Sunday, The Day of Jesus' Ascension always falls on a Thursday)

Easter 6--John 14:15-21 The Father will send the Holy Spirit

Easter 7--John 17:1-11 Jesus prays that the disciples will be one and abide in his love

PENTECOST (May 24 this year)--Acts 2:1-21  Filled with the Spirit to proclaim God’s deeds   John 14:8-27The Father will give you another Advocate, the Spirit of truth

HOLY TRINITY SUNDAY (May 31 this year)--Matthew 28:16-20 Living in the community of the Trinity
